Ruth Swissa Keynote Speaker at CSFPS Newport Beach 2024 Conference

Over the weekend, Ruth Swissa was invited to lecture about scar camouflage (also known as medical micropigmentation / medical tattooing) at the California Society of Facial Plastic Surgery Newport Beach conference at the Hyatt Regency. This event invites leaders from across the globe to share new techniques, emerging trends and pearls of wisdom within the scope of aesthetic surgery.

The California Society of Facial Plastic Surgery (CSFPS) is an organization composed of board-certified specialists focused on aesthetics and reconstruction of the face, head and neck. Founded in 1998, this organization facilitates collaboration and innovation in aesthetic medicine.

This event is Swissa’s third year lecturing at the CSFPS Newport Beach conference and four year lecturing participant at the CSFPS Lake Tahoe conference. Historically Swissa has presented case studies (i.e., camouflaging surgical scars on lip lift patients) as well as clinical pearls about scar camouflaging in the realm of medicine.

This 2024 conference, Swissa shared the untoward effects of layering incorrect pigments over hyperpigmented scars. In addition to that, Swissa shared techniques on how to prepare scars both texturally and pigmentation-wise using nano-needling techniques.

Conference attendees spanned from specialists in plastic surgery, facial plastic surgery, dermatology, oculoplastic surgery and cosmetic surgery.
