What is Microneedling?

The microneedling procedure, which is also known as collagen induction therapy. This treatment is a minimally invasive procedure. Microneedling and Platelet-Rich Plasma

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a process utilizing the client’s blood, which is processed to concentrate platelets and growth factors. When the PRP is combined with microneedling to amplify the rejuvenation process. PRP furth accelerates healing and enhances the overall results.

What to expect during the procedure

Prior to treatment, a review of the client’s health history will be conducted. This is a good time to ask questions about the procedure. During a session, a trained skincare professional will use the microneedle device to create controlled micro incisions with a fine needle. The body responds naturally to the micro injuries by producing new collagen and elastin, and creating an improved texture of a more youthful skin. This treatment also facilitates the absorption of skincare products.

  • A numbing cream is applied to the area of treatment 30 to 40 minutes before the procedure which ensures a comfortable experience during the procedure. The microneedling device creates controlled micro-injuries on the skin.
  • The skincare professional uses the microneedling device, creating controlled micro-injuries on the skin.
  • If PRP is part of the treatment, the concentrated plasma is applied (topically or injected) onto the treated areas.
  • Following the treatment, some redness and swelling may occur, resembling a mild sunburn for several days.
  • Aftercare will require that the client avoid direct sun exposure and strenuous activity.

Microneedling is an outpatient procedure. Multiple treatments may be required, which are usually 3 to 8 weeks apart. Permanent results may not be seen immediately but rather three to six months later. A client may need to have a procedure once a year for maintenance.

Microneedling, as a standalone or in conjunction with PRP, has proven to be a game-changer in skincare. The process provides a non-invasive and effective solution to a multitude of skin conditions, leaving the skin radiant and rejuvenated.
